Add an experience to your vacation rental to stand out among the crowd and get more bookings!

Adding experiences to your short term rental bookings:

Looking for a good way to increase bookings and especially repeat bookings? Guests don’t want cookie cutter, hotel style accommodations. They seek the Instagrammable moments. They seek a chance to really connect in unique ways with loved ones or to escape the normal, everyday life.

Below are some ideas you can incorporate to really wow your guests:

In-house massage for vacation rental.

Do you have room in one of the bedrooms for a masseuse to set up a portable table? In the living room? On the private balcony?

Private yoga or meditation session for vacation rental

Do you have a large deck, game room, yard or beach access? Then you have room to host yoga or meditation for your guests.

Facials, manicures and pedicures for vacation rental

If you have comfortable dining chairs or even living room furniture, you have space for an in-home mani/pedi, or facial treatment that your guests will truly enjoy.

Fridge filling or grocery delivery.

Some vacation destinations have people who specialize in running errands like this and doing a beautiful job setting the food out on display and getting it chilled in the fridge for your guests arrival. In Destin we have the destin Grocery Girls (link). If your location doesn’t offer that, maybe insta cart or other grocery shopping apps will help your guests get to relaxing and cut out some necessary errands so that arrival is more smooth than expected.

Personal chef.

Isn’t this what we all wish we had? Let your guests relax on their special occasion, birthdays, anniversaries, holidays are all classic reasons to have a personal chef come treat your guests to something special. Any Tuesday evening is a great time too! Another take on the personal chef is having a specialty food basket delivered for breakfast the first morning. Pastries, champagne, and orange juice is a simple and elegant option.

Paint night.

So popular right now. Hire a local artist to come with supplies. They will entertain your guests by teaching them to paint on their own canvas and take home a personal reminder of their trip. Perfect for off season travelers when local excursions are shut down or when the weather isn’t ideal.

Firepit starting.

Do you have a firepit on your property? Some guests really struggle to get the fire started. If your housekeeper or handyman is willing to come and start a fire in the firepit, your guests will be so appreciative. If not, there are lots of people who can bring wood and get it going for your guests. Add on’s like s’mores or other classic fire pit treats really up the creativity. Maybe ghost stories or an acoustic guitarist would be fun too. The possibilities are endless.

Flowers, cake, balloons.

Can you hire a local to run and pick up simple things your guests request so that they can surprise a loved one without trying to sneak around with the recipient in transit with them? Offer this as a service to wow them and leave a lasting impression. In Sevierville TN I use The Cabin Fairy (Link) She helps cabin owners with all sorts of tasks and is there for guests as well!

What are you going to add to your guest experience? I’d love to hear how you implement one of these ideas of one of your own! Please leave your comments below.
